Isla San Andrés, October 2014

I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from the Atlanta College of Art (now SCAD) in the early 1990’s. For more than 10 years, I participated in gallery shows and events throughout the southern United States before moving to California in 2003.

In 2010, I began studying Spanish and became drawn to the refranes or dichos of Latin culture: popular wisdom phrased as a proverb. I created projects based on these refranes, including mixed media pieces centered on diversity, tradition, and progress.

Inspired primarily by travel, writing, and nature, my creative work features an appreciation for landscapes and typography in a palette of brilliant colors and patterns
